A network of shallow lakes and slow rivers cut from medieval peat pits. Pike up to 30 lb haunt the deeper holes; carp, bream, roach and tench dominate the shallower broads. The Bure, Yare and Waveney connect everything — much of it is navigable by boat.

An Environment Agency rod licence is required. Most banks are owned by clubs (Norwich and District AA, NRBA) — day tickets available. Closed season 15 March – 15 June applies on rivers, not stillwaters.
