By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Fish-logged.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must not share your account or use another person's account without permission. You must be at least 13 years old to register.
You own the content you upload (photos, catch records, notes, saved fishing spots). By uploading content you grant us a licence to store, display and back it up for the purpose of providing the service. We will not sell your content to third parties.
You may upload multiple photos to a single catch and set each one as public or private. With the appropriate Premium feature you may also set custom branding text or hide our branding on your public catch pages — you are responsible for any text you supply.
You must not upload content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes another person's rights. We may remove content that violates these terms without notice.
When you mark a catch as public it becomes accessible to anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. You can revert a catch to private at any time; search-engine caches are outside our control.
We store the data you provide to power the service (catch records, gear, locations, photos, saved fishing spots, notes). We do not sell personal data.
Locations. Location data is stored only when you explicitly attach it to a catch or save it as a fishing Spot. We use it to display your catches on your private map and to fetch local conditions. For Premium users we also display an anonymised, blurred density layer of catch locations across all users on the public map ("community heat map"). Only the blurred aggregate is shown to other users; your individual catch coordinates are never exposed to anyone else.
Third-party data services. When you save a Spot or attach conditions to a catch, we send the latitude and longitude (and the date / time for historical look-ups) to public weather and tide services — currently Open-Meteo and the UK Environment Agency — to fetch live or historical conditions. No personal information about you is sent to these services, only the coordinates and time.
Pricing feedback. If you take part in our Premium pricing survey we store your responses (the price you would pay, whether you would use the feature, any optional notes). This is associated with your account so you can revisit and update it, and is used to inform our pricing decisions. It is not shared externally.
Cookies. We use session cookies and, when a referral link is followed, a 30-day referral cookie. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.
Some features are designated "Premium" and require an active grant on your account. During the current pilot phase Premium may be offered free of charge in exchange for pricing feedback. We may end the pilot at any time and require a paid subscription for continued Premium access; we will notify you in-app before doing so, and no charge will ever be taken without your explicit consent.
Scales are an in-app currency awarded for actions such as referrals, public shares and personal-best catches. Scales have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not refundable. We may award, revoke or adjust Scales balances as needed (for example to correct errors or remove abuse). Cosmetic items purchased with Scales may be deactivated by an administrator and removed from the public catalogue; you retain access to any item you have already acquired unless it is deactivated for a policy reason.
Fish-logged is provided on a best-efforts basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where possible.
Fish-logged is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, loss of catches, or any other damages arising from your use of the service. Weather, tide and marine information surfaced through the service is sourced from third parties for informational use only and must not be relied on for navigation or safety-critical decisions.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do we will increment the version number and notify you within the app. Continued use after a new version is published constitutes acceptance.
